Eating to run and lose weight

I'm a 5'2, 21 year old female and I weigh 114lbs. I'm looking to loose roughly 10lbs and get down to about 105lbs. I currently run 6 days a week and on a typical day 2-3 miles and once a week 4-5 miles. My question is how many calories should I be consuming to lose weight but at the same time still be able to complete my running workouts. I currently consume about 2000-2200 cal/day. Also, I weight train twice a week. Thanks

Re: Eating to run and lose weight

You should be aiming for around 1600 calories a day for your weight and activity level in order to lose weight. That will keep you in a calorie deficit but not too far as to cause a starvation response or to make you tired. Keep in mind that content is important too. Eating a clean 1600 calories will do infinitely more good than 1600 calories of junk. Make sure that you are getting enough protein to facilitate your weight training too, which is about 1g per pound of body weight.
