My boyfriend barely has any lower back muscles. We were trying to find exercises that help, but each one was too hard and it hurt him. Does anyone know of any exercises that would help that are very easy to do? Thanks!
Effective exercises aren't really supposed to be easy. Deadlifts, hip extensions, and good mornings work the lower back. Also, lying on your stomach, arms and legs pointed up, then lifting the arems and legs off the ground balancing on the belly and hips (Superman pose) will also work the lower back some.

Alright thanks. But are there any low rate excercises, to start out with.
I don't know if this will help but I have a tape of Tony Littles' stomach workout and it includes a simple back exercise at the end which is just lying on stomach flat on the floor, then barely lifting up the upper torso (no hyperextending) for reps as the lower body just lies there.... so it seems it may be pretty safe/non painful yet I really feel the back muscles when I do it. I guess he should also see a doc too just in case.
