I do 5 sets of 20 with 60 pounds but I don't feal a burn. By the time I get to 20 I feel like I can't do anymore, but I haven't felt any burn. Should I be feeling burning or am I not doing myself any good?
Is the bench-press the first exercise you do in your routine? What other muscles do you feel? Perhaps your front shoulders? What muscle do you feel the most when you go to failure on your 20th rep? Naxis is right that 20 reps is too many for strength and muscle gains. However you should be certainly feeling a burn and strong focus on your chest with 20 reps. I would suggest you re-examine your technique and have some one spot for you and see where you going wrong. You should be feeling your chest with 20 reps to failure. I would not up the weight or lower the reps until you’ve solved the technical problem with your bench-press. Also what is the rest of your routine like? Do you only train your chest? It could be your other muscles are too weak and they are failing before your much larger chest muscles?
I don't do any other excersizes, one day I do the penchpress then the next day bumbells for biceps and triceps, then the next day benchpress and so on.
What i'm not sure about, is how I have my wrists. I don't know if I should have them straight up or at 90 degrees, that could be my problem.
Do I take it you train the same days in a row? How many days a week do you train? Do you do dumbell flys? If so do you get a burn with them? Also are you talking about dumbell benchpress or barbell Benchpress? It sounds as if you talking about dumbell when you asking about your wrists?
