Football/Soccer Groin Injury Help Needed

Whilst playing in a football/soccer match 5-6 weeks ago my groin muscle was aggrevated and in lots of pain. I thought it was minor as the pain went away after 2 days and i continued to play football as normal, but then the pain came back but a lot worse.

Now, after 6 weeks after getting the injury it still really hurts sometimes, can be complete agony after just a short walk and leaves me limping.

Im seeing the docs monday about the problem, but how serious do you think this might be? Will i need surgery or something similar?

Thanks

Re: Football/Soccer Groin Injury Help Needed

Well, been down docs and its definately the groin strained. Had it for 7 weeks now and went to footy training last nite as the pain seemed to had gone. Got about half way thru training lightly and the pain was slightly coming back, definately there but not too bad, think im gona keep training lightly and see how it goes, whilst also takin hot baths and rubbing heat rub on and stretching.
