Two Questions! Does It Matter?

1. I know that I want to get a certain amount of walking or other cardio in per day. Does it matter if the sessions have to be broken up into maybe 4 30 minutes sessions verse one 2 hour session?

2. Is it better to exercise first thing in the morning or should I exercise at night? Does it matter?

THANKS!

First of all, two hours of cardio, at least the kind of cardio that qualifies as a true aerobic workout, is too much on a daily basis. One hour is what is normally recommened as the limit. One of the reasons is that anything beyond one hour is a definitely an exercise with diminishing return. When you do more than one hour of cardio your body uses muscle tissue as a fuel and you want to avoid losing muscle. Basically, two hours is really overdoing it, whether in one session or four.
You don't state goals for your workout. Are you training for endurance, for strength, for weight loss?

I think that you get sounder sleep if your workout is at least 3 hours from bed time. If you are doing your cardio outdoors, you will find that mornings can be more pleasant with cleaner air, and cooler.
