Check out Mike Mahler for an excellent vegan role model in the body builders' circle. He's got it down. You can *absolutely* build muscle on a vegan diet, you just have to be a little more careful about food choices. I eat a lot of beans and green veggies, tofu, and use rice protein for shakes. I also use brewers yeats to make up for missing B vitamins as well as for additional protein. Boca Burgers (technically soy) make good meal/snacks too, although I avoid processed food when I can.
