hey there

Im starting my first diet.
everyone give me an opinion.

in the morning i eat oatmeal and probably sausage(2 pieces small and round)
evening i eat a salad because Im at school.(lettuce a little cheese and a few cubes of ham)
in the evening I eat rice with or without peas or a half can of mixed veggies

I only drink water or green tea.

as far as a meat i eat chicken when ever its available.

for a snack i eat either multi wheat clubhouse crackers or green apples

Not especially good, but not horrible. First, what are your stats (Height/weight)? And is the goal fat loss? Are you doing any exercise?

Im about 5'8" and between 180-185

My goal is to lose weight and have a beachbody by the 10th of july

I workout. Monday:bi/quads
tuesday:tri/shoulder/abs
wednsday:quads/calves
Thursday:startover

Cardio:alternate between jogging and walking. I jog more than i walk
as soon as i can get to a gym i will use a punching bag.
((my friend and I fight for competition, that is a nother reason I am doing this))

Where;s the back and chest? No recovery day? How long is your cardio for? How often?

As for diet, sausage is a big no-no. High in saturated fat. Not helpful for fat loss. A hard boiled egg would be a better choice. You need around 1g of protein per pound of bodyweight per day. Chicken, fish, eggs, dairy and occasional lean red meat. Rice is not the best dinner food - high GI carbohydrates at night are not conducive for fat loss. Canned veggies are not the best either. They are cooked and 'preserved' to the point of being much lower in nutrient value. If you can, eat fresh raw or steamed veggies with some meat/protein for dinner. And make sure that you're getting at least 1800 calories a day to drop fat while maintaining your lean muscle. If you eat too little, you will lose muscle mass and actually store more fat.

Are you planning to eat the same exact thing every day? If so, I'm sorry to say, you'll most likely fail. Heavily ristricted diets rarely work. Just make sure you're eating enough fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins and drinking enough water. Don't take in alot of fried foods, bad carbs (sugary things and bleached grains), or soda. Just eat a generally balanced and healthy diet and that's more likely to last.
