adding weight training to my workout

I have read that you should do cardio and weights.I need to lose about 50 lbs.So I would like to add weight training to my workout. Not to bulk up(I am a women and just want some toning)I am looking into either the total gym-you use your own body weight or the Weider 8510 home gym that you use weights. They are about the same price just which would be better? Thanks

The Total Gym is probably going to end up being more versatile. The Wieder is okay, but it looks like you will be fairly limited in which exercises you can do. Freeweights would be even better. Maybe even resistance bands.
