How do I lose my "man boobs?"

Hi I've been drinking 3 protein drinks a day and doing 100 pushups and sit ups I've been doing countless chest press's every day and bicep curls until I can't do anymore. I've been walking a lot I seem to be only getting arm mass but almost no change to my chest! someone please tell me some tips to get rid of my man breasts!

P.S. please don't tell me to get cosmetic surgery or take pills because I've known people that have taken them and it doesn't work. Also I haven't had any soda at ALL for the past 4 months.

Am I doing something wrong or not doing enough?.Looking forward to advice

Re: How do I lose my "man boobs?"

How long have you been exercising and dieting? Are you eating anything other than protein drinks? What's in the drinks (calories, macronutrients)? What are your stats? (height/weight/age - if over 17) Is it just extra fat in the chest or do you have a little extra body fat to lose all over?
Strength training exercises will increase mass but really won't change the "manboobs" and doing a lot of chest exercises may make the manboob more pronounced. More muscle does increase metabolism, but you still need a daily calorie deficit to lose the fat. There is also a fairly common condition called 'gynecomastia' which is a genetic coniditon where a male develops a very small amount of breast tissue around the nipples (which isnt just fat and can't be lost/burned off), in which case nothing but surgery can really remove the boobage. You might ask your doctor next time you have a visit. S/he can tell you if it's gyno or just bodyfat.

Re: How do I lose my "man boobs?"

I'm 6'4 and weigh 198 pounds and I am 16. I have been exercising for the past 5 months, I rarely eat junk food. I don't drink any other weight loss drinks or take any dietary pills. 110 calories 20grams of protein per scoop and i have 6 scoops a day but I've also read that each gram of protein burns 5 calories. I'm not quite sure what the macronutrients are but here's something "Typical naturally occuring amino acids per serving." Alanine 1550mg arginine 500mg Aspartate 2300mg..... thats's just 3 of 18 if you want to know the rest tell me.

Re: How do I lose my "man boobs?"

Do you eat anything other than the shakes? Do you have real food meals? Are you paying attention to your overall calorie intake, not just "junk"? I don't know if whey or shake protein has the same calorie burning effect as other proteins (real food proteins) do. If you can get more protein in your diet through real food, you shouldn't need so many shakes. You're depriving yourself of decent nutrition by relying too heavily on protein shakes (which are most useful for building muscle mass, less so for fat burning).

You may also want to increase the intensity of your cardio for better fat burning. Walking is really the bare minimum. Jogging, swimming, biking, jump rope, inline skating etc would be much better. However you are at a healthy weight for your height, so please be very critical about whether you really need to lose body fat or whether your issue may be related to a gyno condition.

And macronutrients are just fat, protein, and carbohydrates. Not individual aminos. But I think I have a good idea of what's in the shakes.

Re: How do I lose my "man boobs?"

If you want to lose fat (which are your "man boobs") you need to do cardio. Strength training will burn calories but you will not simply replace your fat with muscle. You need to get rid of the fat (cardio) and add muscle to tone and shape (strength training).

Good luck!

Re: How do I lose my "man boobs?"

Welcome to the boobage club, I'm trying my best to get rid of mine, I'm 6-0, 160 #, so I dont really have a lot a extra fat to loose. I have a feeling the boob fat is the last fat to go. I have a theory that you have to keep losing weight to the point of being underweight to lose the man boobs, the slowly regain the weight as muscle. Just my opinion. I relish the day I can take my shirt off without being embarrased. I think mine is just extra fat, my nipples are small, not large at all. And I think the nipples are enlarged if its gynecomystia. Good Luck.
