Yes, I exercise almost every night and it's calories in and calories out, that's all that matters. And I hardly have any difficulty falling asleep. Everyone is different though.
However, there are some early morning advocates that claim that you burn more fat on an empty stomach but that doesn't resonate with me unfortunately.
