I take creatine from time to time. It puts water in your muscles and gives you energy to lift heavy longer. Protien is the best thing you can take/eat imediately after a workout. To gain muscle mass you need to eat right, sleep right, and lift heavy. If one of these factors are off, you wont see as great results. Think of your body like a car, everything needs to be working to run smoothly.
Supplements are secondary and are useless without proper weight training.
