Hi all, and Happy New Year! My question is this, what would be better to start with, pilates of yoga, if you're fairly new to exercise? I'm 49 and one of my Christmas presents was a renewal of my membership to the "Y." They have so many programs that I would like to try, but I have to start slowly. I'm no very flexible so which would be better to start with? Any advice?
Actually they are both excellent and you should try to incorporate them both! Im a personal trainer and I have my clients do both, whether they are beginners or other trainers getting ready for competition, they are both good choices! And, I applaud you for beginning a regular exercise routine. Stick with it and you will reap MANY benefits! God Bless!!
Thanks everybody! I'm going on Friday night for a beginners yoga class. I just hope I'm not the only one out of shape though. There's a class tomorrow night that's called "pilates balls and bands" but it sounds like I might have to work my way up to that one so I think I'll just go and walk the track and use the elliptical machine for a bit.
