Milk for Protein Shake - Exercise & Fitness Message Board

How much different is milk from the protein shakes like DesignerWhey? I've been meaning to boost my post workout protein and a 2lb jar of DesignerWhey costs $50. Ordering from the net is also not much of an option since courrier service is so expensive in our parts.

Back to the question. The milk I'm considering has virtually the same nutrition info, in fact even more protein, as that of most protein shakes in the market. Will this do? Or is there really a special way of preparing the protein shakes that make them suitable for muscle growth?

whey is a very fast acting protein, better than milk, for post workout.

I have no idea where you are buying your designer protein, it is not even that expensive at gnc!...

I see it all over the net for under 20 bucks.

Or, but a 10 pound sack of optimun nutrition whey for under 50 bucks. I have seen around 43 bucks..

Unfortunately, I live half way around the world and here in the Philippines, even the local GNC franchises do sell them that expensive. But thanks for the tip, I guess I'll just have to make it part of my budget. I've consulted some of those net sites and though the stuff comes really cheap, the courrier service is $15 a piece.
