Post inner thigh chaffing?

okay, so this isn't exactly just about fitness, but this seems like a good place to ask. lately, especially at work, i've been having trouble with chaffing of the very upper part of my inner thighs. it's definitely not all the time, but sometimes it happens, and it gets to the point where every step is painful. it happened today, and i just got back from trying to run tonight, because i was feeling okay. well, it hurt quite a bit after about half a mile of running, and i couldn't go further. so, have any of you also had this problem? what can be done? i'm not very overweight, so i don't think it's that my legs are too fat and can't avoid rubbing together that intensely. i'm about 5'11" and 155lbs. any ideas?

Talcum powder applied between the thighs or a pair of bike pants worn under your shorts/pants/skirt, should elevate the problem.

I am a runner and suffer from chafing under my armpits. There are products available at most running/cycling stores, but I find just plain old vaseline works just the same.

Been there too! As a long time runner one has to be creative at times.

I have tried the vaseline and it does work. In long runs I use it between my chest and arms. However, the thigh area is a different issue for me. The easiest way for me was to get a pair of "second skin" type of shorts to wear under my running shorts. It not only decreases the friction but wicks the moisture away as well both in Summer and Winter.

Finally, once you have an irritation, try an over the counter medication located by foot products. It sounds a little wierd and personal but look for something that treats "Jock Itch" (you can always tell the clerk that it is for your son).
