Post Flat Bench Question

At the gym i see people bounce the wieght off there chest and arch the back. Its seems like they can lift more with this method. Is this beneficial in anyway.

No, no, no... this is extremely, horrendously poor form. One might be able to "get more up" but it doesn't have anything to do with muscle or strength. It's all momentum and leverage and you're begging for a cracked sternum. This is the epitome of ego lifting. Avoid this at all costs.

I allready figured that much. But i wasnt sure i got into an argument with my gym partner over it. I love that last thing, Ego lifting hahahahhaha im gonna use that one. THanks
