Hi there ,
If you actually want to build muscle you have to increase the load ( weight that you are using ) and work in sets . It is normal to feel sore up to 24 hours later ( this is called DOMS delayed onset of muscle soreness ) . That is why it is recomended to work on alternative days . If you are working with light weights and a long time every day you are most likely burning more calories causing you to get thinner ,as opposed to building muscle -gaining weight .
