Lacking self motivation

As much as I love exercise and Im great at motivating others with their workouts, I just cant seem to motivate myself when I do a workout session in my local gym where I work. I use to love the gym and go on a daily basis now I think its a bore when I try and go for a workout session on my own, I dont push myself hard enough I get bored and then afterwards I am dissapointed cause I didnt feel like a did much of a workout. I still love the group fitness aerobic classes and tend to go to body step and body combat classes which I love but when it comes to doing my own workouts the motivation is non existent. I need some help as my stomach muscles are quite weak and I want to strengthen them up but I need someone who will motivate me and encourage me.

Does anyone have any ideas of what I should do ??

well, if exercising alone doesn't work for you, don't do it. I find I can lift weights well alone, but for cardio I get bored alone, so I go with a friend.

Or, you might want to work with a trainer to develop a new routine.

Are you saying you're a personal trainer of sorts? When you're at the top, who's going to train the trainers, is it lonely up there?

I don't think you're talking about motivating entertainment are you, like music while working out?

Are you looking for workout partner?

If you're looking for a serious challenge to motivate you, why not run if you are not already? Running is it's own world of motivation and you either do it or you fail at it. It takes a lot of will power to be able to do any distance, but once you're able to do 2-3 miles and up from there, your motivation can really take off since you feel so good about your ability and fitness at that point!

Hey thanks you two

Dont get me wrong I love exercise, I can go and do some group fitness classes easily and I love and enjoy doing them, I guess it comes with the social aspect too.

When it comes to classes such as circuit classes, bike, aqua or aerobics classes Im usually fine and I work sooo much harder than when Im working out on my own.

I might try taking up running though I have tried it in the past but then again it comes to that I run better when Im with others.

I just feel so bad because I am great at motivating others and getting them to do exercise which I do on a regular basis but when it comes to myself Im just so bored and demotivated.

Thanks for your suggestions though.
