Best time to work out?

Hi everyone, For the last two months I have been dieting and working out almost everyday with breaks in between. However, my girlfriend is going back to college and we have a beautiful 9 month old daughter. It's so difficult to find someone who will watch her for an hour just so I can work out 5 days a week. Anyways, I work in a hotel and its 2nd shift so I finish either at 1030 or 1130 at night and that would be the only time I have to actually work out with out having to worry about a babysitter. Now working out his late is useless? Or is it just simply better to work out in the mornings?

Re: Best time to work out?

But to answer your actual question, the time of day you exercise doesn't matter at all. If you have to do it late to fit it in, that should be just fine. There is no rule at all that you have to work out at any particular time.

Re: Best time to work out?

Thanks Naxxis your always so helpful & resourceful! So I wouldn't benefit more from working out early morning versus late night?

Re: Best time to work out?

Not really. In theory testosterone levels are higher in the morning, but in practice it doesn't matter at all toward the effectiveness of your workouts. Just make sure that you still have some kind of post workout nutrition. Even if you're going to bed right after you get home, 100-200 calories of (ideally) protein is still needed. If you're lifting, you need a little bit of carbohydrates too.
