Shoulder pop and pain

So about march this year while playing basketball, I sort of raised my arm to catch the ball and I think it may have gone a little bit too much to the back as when the ball hit, I felt lot of popping in my shoulder, it hurt a lot and I couldn't really move it for a while. After that I felt pain and went to the doctor and everything, he gave me a cream for muscle pain and some pain killers (apparently my joint had separated or something). It keot being uncormfortable as I couldn't stretch my arm to much to the back, and if i moved my arm fast my shoulder would pop (but no pain) and the doctor did tell me that i could play sports, but yesterday it happened again (the 3rd time it pops, hurts, and I'm unable to move my arm for 5min or so) but the pain now is really bad, it won't hurt but as soon as I move my arm over my shoulder it hurts. Yesterday even I couldn't lift my blanket with my right arm.

The thing is, will my shoulder ever heal and feel normal again? It's really limiting my abilities in sports, and I'm a volleyball and soccer player, and also getting into parkour. It's sort of annoying :S

edit: I forgot to mention, my shoulder pops all the time when I move it like before, with no pain, but more than before

Re: Shoulder pop and pain

get urself a better doctor - u screwed up the joint -- bursa , tendons, ligaments.. really its very sloppy, need to find someone to get this thing in position for you and start to give u therapy to get things stablized - u will probably remain with some sort of residual problems for life.. just need to keep that shoulder strong... that is why good therapy now is important it will keep it from becomming a more chronic mess
