Early morning workouts and losing 10 more lbs

I have 2 questions:

1), I normally awake at about 4:45 am and get to the gym around 5:15 am. So far, I've gotten good results (gains) and energy from NOT eating prior to my workouts. I've heard that you should eat something! Should I?

2), This is my week off after about 11 weeks of training. I still have about 10lbs that I want to loose! Could anyone tell me what I could possibly change? Prior to taking the week off, I did loose about 35 pounds.

Mondays (run 2 1/2 - 3 miles outside...hilly at some points)
Tuesdays (run 1 mile, then weights - shoulders, legs and abs)
Wednesdays (off)
Thursdays (Weights - chest, triceps and abs)
Fridays (run 2 1/2 - 3 miles outside...hilly at some points)
Saturdays (run 1 mile, then weights - back, biceps and abs)

*I do eat pretty clean...

Thanks for your help!

Re: Early morning workouts and losing 10 more lbs

Hi according to what I have read, it is ok to do a brisk walk after eating up hills but not violent exercise after eating. I have also read that weight lifting can damage heart valves and so I do not recommend that to anyone. In my opinion no fats, sugars, meats, dairy and using more fruits, vegetables, grains and a spare amount of the nuts may also help. :)

I have never heard of damaged heart valves from weight lifting. Is this all weight training or just heavy lifting?

As for the OP I think it is just up to you whether you like to eat or not before you work out. There are valid arguments for both. Why are you taking an entire week off? That seems counter productive.
If you have hit a plateau in your weight loss check your calorie intake, you may be eating too much, or interestingly, not enough. Also you may want to try some different types of exercise, or up the intensity on your current routine.

I only took off a week after working out for 11 weeks. Normally, it helps the muscles to recover and I come back even stronger with more gains. Thanks for the insite on eating prior to or not...I'll probably continue not eating as long as I make the gains and have energy.
