This may sound funny. But I was wondering if a sloppy sitting posture causes more belly fat? Is it just me or it is true that I really felt that I gain more belly fat recently because of my poor sitting posture? Need to clarify this. Thanks.
Hi sitting too much instead of being active and too much snacking, meats, oils and sugars can cause it. A daily walk would probably benefit most people.
Sitting up straight and having strong abdominal muscles help hold in not only your fat but also your internal organs.
Even a skinny person will look like they have a poochy little gut, if they do not have good muscle tone and if they slouch all the time (see Taylor Momsen as a perfect example of this).

Hi some people have said that poor posture cramps the lungs, proper breathing and does not allow the abdominal organs the amount of space they need for proper functioning. It is said by some that an erect form can contribute to health.
