In a couple of months I'll be 38 and I'm starting to feel my age. Ive noticed a decrease in stamina (tho my platelets are a little on the low side and that doesn't help either). Workouts in general just seem harder, what used to come easy is more of a struggle. Of course more aches and pains. Can anyone else relate?
If you are healthy (cleared by your doctor) you maybe overdoing it or need to diversify. Tell me more about your weekly work out routine. What kind of exercise, how often, how long and what is your intensity level?
Hello fitwise. Right now I'm doing mostly cardio, 5 days a week 30-40 minutes. Depending on the day I'll do a HITT Workout, jump rope, push ups, practicing punching and kicking, sometimes I'll lift moderate heavy weights. Some of the HITT workouts can be fairly intense.
I felt more fatigued than usual today, right from the start. I'll admit I didn't eat anything today which didn't help. I've been to the doctors recently and had a physical and blood tests. Everything can out fine except as mentioned above my blood platelets were a little on the low side (but not low enough to cause a concern.) . I've read that low platelets can cause fatigue and tiredness.
I think you've figured it out. It sounds like your fatigue and tiredness are maybe due to the nutrition deficiency. Please make sure that you consume min of 1,800 kcal/day and taking into account your activity level and age you'll need 2,800-3,000 kcal/day (based on USDA 2005 recommendations).
The good news: you are not too old to exercise, you are just hungry
