Facing eye removal

Hi, I'm new here. I have had 4 surgeries since January 2016, starting with a torn retina. It went from that to 2 detached retina surgeries with many complications including vitreous hemorrhage, hyphema, corneal abrasion, and more. I went into hypotony with complete collapse of my eye. I have just had another surgery by a different doctor to try to save the eye ( meaning restore blood supply). He inserted silicone oil to try to build up the pressure. He said its only a slim chance the surgery will be a success.
My question is, has anyone here had to have an eye removed, and what was their experience? I have to prepare myself for this and would appreciate any information and support I can get.
Thank you and I sincerely wish the best for you all.
