My wife suddenly discovered something in her eye just the other day. The doctor told her that she had a "young persons cataract" and needed to have it removed immediately, as it grows very quickly, and can cause serious damage to the eye. I have searched the internet, and cannot find any reference to "young persons cataract". Has anyone heard of this? Can anyone provide any information?
Heboy: Ask the doctor to explain exactly what he means. There are three types of cataracts--clouding of the interior of the lens, clouding of the outer layer of the lens, and clouding of the thin membrane that holds the lens in place. You will have to find out from him what kind it is and why he says removal is so urgent. Or, you can get a second opinion.
