Question Dr's responsibilty?

Does anyone know if Dr's are supposed to report drivers they know of who are legally blind? I know Dr's in some states have to report seizures that drivers have. My mother, who has been legally blind for @ least 2 years, but still drives, recently got a letter from the Sec. of State demanding an eye exam. Any info. would help. I'm the one she's accusing of narking on her.

Re: Dr's responsibilty?

Is the surgery corrective? See to it she takes the exam. If she is legally blind, she must not drive. Keep her off the road.

My mother was struck down in a crosswalk (left for dead until the emt in the store ran after the car) rundown by a man who was older, wore thick glasses. He thought he hit a road cone (glasses not strong enough I guess) and did not see the NYS yield to pedestrian sign. He nearly killed her and she almost died twice from complications. Word to the wise, don't let her do it. She could kill someone-get her off the road, has no business driving legally blind!
