That's a floater, it's extremely common - they can come as dots, lines, threads, "clouds", they can be black, brown, "clear" (like an opaque hair) - they always say if you have new floaters or flashing lights to see your eyedoctor (If I did that, I'd have to rent a cot and camp out in the doctors waitng room!), but that is what people are always told, although personally I wouldn't have it checked out, but if it's something totally new to YOU, I'd go, just to make sure your retina didn't tear (the line is a piece of vitreous that pulled off and is floating around the fluid in your eye, that's why it's moving - sometimes they DON'T move. You just want to make sure when it came off that it didn't tear the retina - odds are very low though.
