Vision deteriorating to quick... help! - Eye & Vision Message Board

My vision has been a lot blurrier lately. I have a light prescription used mostly for driving in order to see long distance.
My last eye test for glasses was only less than a year ago and it was 25/40. When I went in this time, it's now 50/75

It feels like it..
I've been thinking about what I've been doing a lot lately that I didn't before. I came up with two things.
One is looking at my laptop a Lot more. And two is using my older glasses for watching t.v. (I found them in storage).
I'll be getting brand new ones when they're ready. Oh, and I also forget to take them off when looking at my laptop, which slightly makes it blurry (I see clearly close-up without glasses).
Do you think I'm causing my own eye's to deteriorate with these new habits?? Am I not suppose to use my old prescriptions along with my new??
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Eyes need to practice long distance looking. There is at least one book of exercises too - Better Eyesight Without Glasses - I think it is called.

I've been trying to pay attention more to my bad habits, don't want my eyes to get worse than they are that quick.
The doctor told me it's just a part of aging..

I still have a hard time believing that because I get my eye check up just about every year and they haven't changed much each time, it was just from last year to this year that it changed so drastically.
I also notice that they don't adjust as quick as they use to when I look at something far away then suddenly looking at something close-up.
I will look for that book you mentioned though, maybe they do need exercising.
