Having problems inserting soft disposable lens...anyone else? - Eye & Vision Message Board

Have never worn them, just gas perms for a long time...now I can't seem to master getting these big lens's in AND out of my eye. Will I ever adjust to these lens or give up?
Thanks for any info.

Also eyes were red and burning afterwards. (with a headache that followed for 24+ hours)

Go back to whoever fit you with the lenses for more training.Also have the fit assessed.You should not have had the aftereffects that you described.

I had the same problem. First make sure the finger you use to insert the contact is completely dry. If you have to try several times, dry your finger off each time.
As for the red and burning - change the solution you are using. I had to try several brands before I found one that didn't make my eyes burn. My eye Dr. gave me small sample bottles of several brands to try. I changed from gas perms to soft contacts a year ago and love them, they are so much more comfortable to wear.
