hard time getting contacts out!

I have gas permeable lenses and just recently have had a HARD time getting them out of my eyes!! In case some aren't familiar with how those are taken out, you just push up on the top left of the eye (left eye for example), and look down to the right and keep blinking... they should pop out immediately and they always have - now I do this over and over and over and over, sometimes for 15 minutes or more! Could dry eyes cause this?? If so, what can I do? (I can't find ANY eye drops that say they are safe to use with contact lenses!) - I didn't even bother with them today, I wore my glasses because I knew I wouldn't feel like "fighting" with the tonight!

Re: hard time getting contacts out!

What are intacs? I never heard of that. I guess I COULD have become intolerant to contacts as I've been wearing them since 1976!

Re: hard time getting contacts out!

huh...you should be able to find some rewetting drops that you can use with your lenses....

They use to have these cool plunger things that people could use to remove the lenses if you had trouble....just a tiny suction cup with a pole on it. Unfortunately they are no longer allowed to make/distribute them....seems some people got careless and plunged their cornea's when the lenses weren't in place (WHY you would want to do this is beyond me) and caused ulcers.

My folks had to use those on me cause I was in contacts at such a young age and a few years ago mom had one of hers stuck (Or so she thought) So dad and I had to run around town trying to locate one of these plunger things to no avail...someone finally knew what we were talking about and told us they were no longer available....shame really...use to work really well...
