Scratchy feeling in my eye

New thing is now an apparent irritation on my cornea. Feels scratchy or like I have a piece of sand in my eye. Doc has given me erithromycin in ointment form and it helped for a few days and now the eye is all scratchy . The bad watering and burning has stopped though. Do you all think this is just normal healing process or something else? The watering and burning were first sympoms and now the scratchy feeling without the watering. One thing or another.
Hot ccompresses feel good. I don't see the doc for another week and a half.

Re: Scratchy feeling in my eye

I've had a sharp pain in my eye for a couple of days now. I think I've finally determined that it's actually an irritated spot on the inside lower lid that just seems to be the cornea, but isn't. My eyes are always somewhat bloodshot, but the spot on the inside of the lid is really red.
Anyway, I've been using the celuvisc (gel) drops in that eye. It clouds me up for a bit, and tends to dry into flakes on my eyelashes, but it gives relief for a time.

Re: Scratchy feeling in my eye

I think Im getting the scratchy feeling from the little flaky things that are coming out of the eye. Since the surgery, my eye has been tearing a lot with some discharge. I think some of it is drying and getting back into the eye and causing irritation. I have been flooding the eyes with systeen to clean them and using my antibiotic ointment. I had a bad episode thios morning, but nothing now. It comes and goes. Thats why I think it is just small pieces of debris (of sorts)
Yours sounds like an irritation under the eyelid. What can you do for that besides warm compresses? I suppose it will go away on its own?
