Just wondering if there are any logical reasons for sudden vision loss? I am 21 years old and was always told I had better than 20/20 vision... then in this past year, my vision suddenly took a turn for the worst... it seemed like it happened over the course of just a couple days... so I went to the vision doc. and sure enough, my vision in my left eye was 20/50!!! Besides a brain tumor or something horrendous like that, are there any other logical reasons for sudden vision loss????
This sounds like possible optic neuritis. Why don't do a search for this, and see you have other symptoms. Is you vision loss total, or only worse vision?
It does not sound like optic neuritis...something an optometrist would have seen during the course of an eye exam. The 20's are a prime time for vision changes. Mine did. 20/50 is not "vision loss" it is a correctable vision change. You may need to wear glasses or contacts. Just because it seemed sudden to you does not mean it was. It just means you noticed it. Do not worry, and do not search the internet for diseases that your eye doctor would have found during a thorough exam. Also, do not worry that it will get continually worse. Since I started wearing contacts at 23, my prescription has changed very little. And I started off a lot worse than 20/50.
