Could be allergies or some other eye condition.
If it's bothering you enough to want to remove it several times a day, then it's time to see a doctor.
Maybe it's not good to remove it. You can ask.

Sounds like you might have an eye infection, maybe Blepharitis. Do not wait, go see your eye doctor for proper diagnosis.

Re: white stringy stuff in eyes

I get the same thing. I have that white stringy stuff in my eyes throughout the day. I always feel like I have something foreign in my eye. My Opthomologist diagnosed Chronic Dry Eye. One of the best products I use for this are Refresh Eye Drops. There are several types out there that may be helpful.

Re: white stringy stuff in eyes

I get the same thing, sometimes it just slides right down my eyeball and it can happen when your driving down the freeway. You have to pull it out because you can't see. I went to several doctors, they all say the same thing..allergies. I think they say that when they don"t know what it is. I also wear contacts which makes it more diffucult, b/c it tend to stick on them. My eyes always feel very gooey, I hate it,

Re: white stringy stuff in eyes

I've been getting this stuff recently and don't know why. I think it must be dry eyes or something since it's summer. I also get that if I accidentally put moisturizer or makeup in my eye... it's almost like having a hair in your eye. I think drops would probably help clear that up (though I rarely use them).
