pain behind eye and 'needle' like sensation in eye
Another 'ailment' I'm dealing with. When one reaches 68, these things happen.
My eye has been feeling like it had something in it for several days, but only has some extra spider veins showing. Yesterday morning I woke with a bad headache and my heart racing (I posted that on the h/b/p )board. All day my head hurt and by evening the pain settled over and behind my right eye. It throbbed all night, letting up completely at times then coming back. I couldn't sleep due to the nagging pain so slept in my recliner with an ice pack on the eye and side of my head. My face now is tender to the touch on the right side near the eye. My eye is 'sore' when I blink but doesn't hurt otherwise, just a few 'sticking' sensations. I looked up Temporal ARteritis on the Mayo Clinic Board and some of the symptoms I have, but not the swelling of the arteries like the picture shows. Has anyone had this happen. If so, what was it? The pain is gone but the side there feels strange and my eye isn't 'right'. I'm considering calling my eye doctor to get it checked with her.
