Ok, so here's the deal. I've had red eye rims for as long as I can remember.
It's never really bothered me, since I'm not usually the type to obsess over how I look, and there is no pain or irritating symptoms.
Recently however, a lot of people have been asking me about it and for some reason the constant questions are hitting harder than they used to. It's getting quite depressing.
A couple of recent examples:
I walked into the stockroom at work and there was a new girl working there, and she looked at me and instantly said "what's wrong with your eyes?".
For some reason that really bugged me. I laughed it off at the time, but I can't get it out of my head now.
By far the worst incident though was when our security guard asked me if I take drugs, because my eyes are always red. I told him no, but I get the feeling he didn't believe me. I'm not an emotional person, but that upset me.
For the record, I honestly don't take drugs. I've never touched any kind. I don't even smoke cigarettes.
Today I was avoiding looking people in the eye, because if I looked them in the eye, it meant they were looking me in the eye.
I've never been like that before.
But I digress.
Does anybody know what it could be?
To sum it up:
- I've had red eyes for as long as I remember.
- My eyeballs are perfectly normal, it's the eyelids and area around the eye that is red.
- There is no soreness, irritation or other symptoms.
