Cool Anyone tried contact lenses tat u wear for 30 continuous days?

Hellooo,

It's regarding what's been said in my message header. Recently, I've been thinking about this again a lot. As I think it would of more convenience to me.

Here's a list of FAQs that keep popping up in my head. Please tell me if you heard of them & can offer advice:

1) Anyone ever tried the lenses that one can put on the eyeball for 30 straight days before taking the lenses out?

2) What's it like?

3) Can one take ZZZzzz without looking like a monster after waking?

4) What brand is available & is the best?

5) Are they suitable for all levels of short-sightedness?

Thank you for your time & help.

Well I can't answer too many of your questions, but I'll tell you my opinion. I had decided to try wearing contacts again after many years. I had stopped wearing them b/c my eyes used to get so dried out. So I saw this ad for Bausch and Lomb's PureVision contacts which are they're 30 day lenses. I went to my eye doctor and told him I wanted to try contacts again and he suggested PureVision, even before I had mentioned them. They are really comfortable and so much easier to put in then regular contacts. They don't flatten as much when you go to put them in your eye. I haven't slept in them yet since I'm still on my trial week, but I will be tonight. Anyway, I think these are really good contacts. My doctor told me Bausch & Lomb went back to the drawing board on these and redesigned them. But ask your eye doctor about them and see what he thinks. I'm happy.

I talked to my eye doctor about getting them, and he said that they are very unhealthy for your eyes. I guess since your wouldn't be cleaning them, and if they have bacteria on them that it could give you a bad eye infection. So I decided not to get them, so I recommend you don't, but it's your decision!

Unhappy

Hi,

I got a trial pair of Bausch & Lomb's PureVision lenses as well as CibaVision's Night & Day contacts a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately for me, my eyes felt a bit irritated by both lenses. I think it may be a reaction to the silicon material that these 30 day lenses are made of. I did manage to try both lenses for a few days though, and both can be slept in quite comfortably without waking up with dried out contacts. In otherwords, you can see clearly as soon as you open your eyes.

The PureVision lenses indead hold their shape better than any other soft lens, but this is because they have a greater centre thickness, making them more rigid. I found this to be a disadvantage in terms of comfort.

The Night & Day contacts are softer, more comparable to conventional soft contacts. They are also more technologically advanced than the PureVisions. They allow even more oxygen to reach the cornea.

As for the bacteria build up, I read that bacteria can't build up on these contacts. Or rather the amount of bacteria reaches a minimal level and then levels off. These contacts also resist protein deposits.

Anyway, just try them. You might like them. They weren't right for me but maybe you'll have better luck. I think most eye doctors will recommend you only wear the lenses for maybe a week continuous at a time.

I have monthly contacts, which I buy in 6 month supplies. Each eye is a different perscription, Im not sur eif its near or far sightedness that I have (I always get them mixed up..lol) but they work great. At the end of each month I chuck them and open up new ones. I dont sleep in them because Im only supposed to wear them for 60% of the day and as it is I wear them for more like 120% of the day. Also I find that sleeping with contacts makes them totally gross and gritty and I like to feel just my natural eye sometimes.
