Extreme light sensitivity is common in those with keratoconus. You need to wear the darkest tinted sunglasses (with UV protection of course) you can find. A local optician should be able to help you.
Also, you should consider having the windows of your car tinted with the lowest % light transmittance allowed by your 'window tint state law'.
