blurry , dimming vision - Eye & Vision Message Board

This usually happens to me in the evening for some odd reason. I'll be sitting there and then all the lights in the house seem to be "darker". No matter what room I go in or which light I use they just seem a shade or two darker. I also experience blurry vision as well. It's not a constant thing, only happens a few times a week.

What could that be from????

This same thing happens to me. I don't know what causes it though. Maybe it has something with lack of oxygen or something similar to a "head rush"....

Hopefully someone on this board might be able to provide some insight. Because it's actually pretty scary in my opinion.

What both of you are experiencing is quite common and can usually be fixed with a simple trip to the Optometrist's office. Book yourselves an appointment and mention that you are having trouble with your night time vision. A very mild prescription may be required to correct the problem and the addition of Anti-Reflective coating to glasses lenses is a BIG plus. The prescription should sharpen everything up in low light settings and the lens coating will eliminate haze or halos around lights. Good luck!

I already have a prescription for glasses.

I also already have anti-reflective coating on them.

Plus, it's not night vision that's the problem, I already know I have a problem with that. It's that my vision actually gets DARKER for a few seconds.

The problem you're experiencing is obviously not glasses related. If you're experiencing a general "dimming" of light that could be an early indication that something is wrong with your retinas or a decrease in blood flow to your eyes. You need an extensive evaluation. The best advice you could follow is to get your eyes checked thouroughly.
