Crusty eyes - Eye & Vision Message Board

Hi, for about the past month, every morning I wake up I have alot of crust around my eyes. Not just in the corners but along the upper and lower lash lines. Also during the day while wearing my contacts my eyes often get irrated and I notice some puss in the corners or my eyes. What could be causeing this?

When you metioned the crusty eyelashes, I thought perhaps it was something like blepharitis. But then you mentioned puss, and I have no idea.

Maybe you should try not wearing contacts for a little bit? Do you sleep in them?

You should probably go see either an optometrist or opthalmologist about this and see what they say.

are your eyes bloodshot all the time too? I have been having the same problem..when I wear my contacts now my eyees feel really dry too..I am finally trying to keep the lenses out for a few days and see if it gets better..my eyes are puffy underneath too.

I have the same kind of crusty material on my eyes in the corners and on the eyelids along the lashes. But I do not wear contacts. I do have chronic dry eyes. I was told I was allergic to something. Sorry I don't have anything definite.

It's best to see an eye dr to find out exactly what is going on. In the meantime, you can use warm compresses to clean the eyelids and get rid of the crust.
