restatsis/plug tear film quality - Eye & Vision Message Board

I recently had punctal plugs put in and today my doctor gave me a perscription for restasis. I know that I read something about the restatsis not increasing tear film quantity if you have plugs (not sure why) but I was mainly concerned about quality of tears (my doctor said my tears evaporate fast, but the tear film is nice/quanitiful). Have any of you taken restasis with plugs and noticed improvements? I know it's relatively new, but I was just wondering.

I use restasis and have upper and lower plugs. Between the drops and plugs, I think my eyes have improved

I live in South america and I need to buy Restasis
The problem is I haven't got prescription (valid in USA). Do you konw what can I do ?
