Smile Morning Glory Syndrome

Hi my name is Kayla, I am from Houston, Texas. I wanted to shed some light on Morning Glory Syndrome. Searching for answers and things I have realized that alot of people dont know alot about it. I was diagnosed when I was a toddler. My mom noticed that I had a lazy left eye and I kept running into things on my left side. She took me to see an eye doctor and they had to call in a specialist because they didnt know what was wrong. I have read all of the medical terms on what this is but it English all it means is that your optic nerve didnt connect with the brain when you were in utero. Hence not being able to see out of that eye. I have perhiphreal vision in my left eye, but it really is just light I cant make out anything. I can only see light to the side I cant see anything right infront of me on my left side. I would have to turn my head completely to the side to even try. I had 20/20 vision in my right eye until I was about 13 and then it just kept getting worse. I wear glasses now. I have found that the only difference between me and a person that can see out of two eyes is, I dont have any depth perception and I cant watch 3D movies and I cant be in the military. This is NOT a handicap of any kind. There is no reason for your child to be treated any differenct in school for any reason. I am VERY protective of my right eye, and my mom made sure all of my teacher's in school knew everything and made sure that nobody tried to stick a pencil in my eye. It is the only eye I have. I have tried to contact many eye doctors and they tell me that there is no cure, no surgery. They tell me it is because of the sensitivity of the Optic Nerve. One wrong move can kill you. I dont know any different, I just see out of one eye and you see out of two. I am always looking for more options tho...If anyone has any kind of information on Morning Gloy Syndrome I would love to hear about it. I have lived with it for 25 years and am no worse for the ware. Thanks for reading.

Re: Morning Glory Syndrome

Yea any more information would be great, and if you can find a solution? You'll be the man!
Sick of being the blind guy.

So heres my idea.

The problem is that 5% of light that enters into my eye, reaches the brain.
So, build a robotic eye like camera connecting to the uncompleted optic nerve, a camera with extra powerful zoom, x 20 more sensitive then the original camera, so that 5% of the light reaching the brain is the same as 100% of the normal eye!

I have no information on the condition but I'd love to get some.
