stitch left in after cataract surgery 1 yr later

My opthamologist does not do surgery. She sent me to someone who
did the surgery. I have dry eyes also. The surgery went just fine and
the follow up visit, according to surgeon, was fine. I went back to my
former opthamologist and he said a stich was left in and that I could
live with that. What do you think.

Should I go back to the surgeon. The surgeon does not call back
patients. I know. Because I tried where there was a small episode of
blindness in that eye and I called in a panic. Anyway, I'd be interested
to hear some opinions. Thank you.
P.S. My surgery was a year ago

Re: stitch left in after cataract surgery 1 yr later

the stitch can stay in indefinitely and doesn't necessarily need to come out unless it is causing some irritation which can happen if it is broken or poking out. If you want it taken out for your peace of mind, just tell any ophthalmologist and they can take it out in a second. It's not causing you to have any vision loss.

The idea that anyone would suggest suing or malpractice for something they know absolutely nothing about is completely disgusting and the reason why so many doctors are miserable and leaving the profession. Is that the first thing that pops into your mind there chrissy? When was the last time you performed eye surgery? Did you go to medical school? Where did you do your residency?

I hope you reveal your willingness to scream malpractice to any doctor you see before they agree to do anything to you. Its only fair. Because i can assure you nobody would touch you for even the simplest problem if they knew.
