cataract surgery

I'm looking forward to a cataract surgery.
But there is a question. Is the pupil after a new lens is implanted still able to dilate or narrow? Or will it have always the same size? Regardless if I'm in darker or brighter surroundings.
Who can answer this question for me?

Re: cataract surgery

Your pupil should retain the ability to dilate post cataract surgery.

Re: cataract surgery

The lens of the eye is made of a gel like substance that is housed in its own envelope, entirely separated from the cornea and the vitreous. Cataract repair simple involves the removal of the lens and its replacement by a synthetic lens that sits in the same envelope, so the functioning of the pupil is not affected.

Re: cataract surgery

Thanks. I understand. I won't to have an irritating "stiff"eye.
