how far should i be able to see with my new glasses?

how far should i be able to see with my new glasses? With my new glasses, I can not see words clearly from a distance, they seem to get a little blurry. I live in sunny Florida can that cause the problem?

That's not satisfactory. You should complain. You should be able to see clearly at all distances unless you have a particular visual abnormality that cannot be corrected - but you would already have been informed if that was the case.

Your vision should be corrected to 20/20. In other words, you should be able to see things clearly that are 20 feet away. Beyond that distance, things slowly getting blurrier.

Re: how far should i be able to see with my new glasses?

Sorry but that is not a correct definition. 20/20 is the average good eyesight measurement. However, things do not get more blurred at greater distances; they just get smaller. If you can see clearly at 20 feet distance you should also see clearly at considerably greater distances but that does not mean reading a roadsign from 20 miles away.
