I've had 2 floaters in my right eye for at least 4 weeks. I hadn't paid much attention to them until the past week when I began 'stressing' about them.
I went to the eye doctor (the same one that prescribes me glasses) and he did a dilation and looked around. He said he saw the floater but didn't find any retinal detatchment.
The floaters are annoying and I've done plenty of googling and I know what floaters are but none of the resources I've consulted describe the approximate timeframe you should expect floaters. As a teenager I noticed small floaters that would come and go in a matter of minutes but now I've had the same 2 floaters for almost a month.
I'm not seeing any 'flashes' that the opt told me to watch out for.
I'm just curious to see if this is normal. The doctor I saw assured me that I'm fine and these things just come with age but I tend to stress about any abnormalities in my health so I just wanted to see if long-term floaters were normal. As I pay more attention to them they cause minor drowsiness and even make me nauseous when my anxiety plays into it.
Should I just chill out? Should I see another doctor?
I'm a 28y/o male with no other major health issues.
Thanks for any input.
