My vision is getting dimmer

Its been several years now that my vision is becoming dimmer. I've done several tests and everything turned out to be ok but my visual problems haven't changed and if anything they have gotten worst. Essentially, my vision is similar to what one experiences when going indoors after being exposed to bright sun light for a while, without the blinding effect. You know, everything seems to be darker. Its like wearing sun glasses. Now, i'm an heavy computer user, so perhaps this has something to do with it. Maybe this is just a side effect of constant eye strain, or perhaps it might be a symptom of some form of visual degeneration. This is really scary to me because i already suffer from brain fog due an underactive thyroid and combined with my fading vision it seems like my mind is disappearing along with the world. I checked various websites for signs and symptoms but most of the conditions i've tested seem to point to direct loss of visual function, which isn't my problem at all (i can see everything down to the smallest detail). Sometimes if i look at the sky i see a lot of floaters in my eye, and i was thinking perhaps they might be interfering with my vision clarity, like a cataract.

At any rate, i'm going to book myself for another visit, whatever good that's going to do. I would appreciate it if anybody here could offer me some insights into my problem. BTW, this is happening equally to both eyes, if that means anything.

Re: My vision is getting dimmer

Anybody has any clue of what's going on? I just tested myself today by looking at older youtube videos i had saved and this time i did notice a problem with my vision clarity. Its almost like a subtle blurriness. Tests keep showing no underlying problem with my vision so i am at a loss as to why i feel like the world is going darker on me.

Re: My vision is getting dimmer

Did you have new prescription glasses made recently? If so, the lens may not be ground right or the doctor prescribed too strong lens.

Had this happen to me this time and had to have glasses made over with less power.

Too much power in glasses will cause your symptoms. Lens made with polycarb material can be a problem too. Best to get lens made from glass or CR39 plastic.

If you do not wear glasses, it could be eye strain plus dry eyes. Have you tried using eyedrops frequently while using the computer? We do not blink enough while using the computer.
