I have all of a sudden started getting what the opthamologist is calling ocular migraines. This just started happening last week. I could not see anything but a prism like area in the left side of my vision in both eyes. I just had another one today. I find it strange that I have never experienced this. Why the sudden change? The eye doc just said "it happens". Is this true? I have been dealing with a lot of strange issues lately like extreme mood swings crying one minute angry the next. Also developed a burning sharp pain in stomach. Never even had indigestion before and I had my gallbladder out a long time ago so it's not gallstones. So I find all this very weird. Especially the vision. I don't know if all the symptoms are related somehow. Just looking to see if anyone might have a little insight.
It is quite a common phenomenon and the cause can be difficult to trace. It could be related to stress or even to something you are eating or drinking. One well-known cause is the artificial sweetener, aspartame. Check to see if that is an ingedient of any of your food or drink.
