vision distortion/retinal scar

I have been having some vision distortion and have been told I have a scar at
the back of my right retina. This scar was noted previously, after I had vitreous collapse - both eyes- after having general anaesthetic (told no connection just a coincidence !) but no-one told me then, 3 yrs ago, or photographed it for comparison.
Nor did I have any distortion before.

It is near the optic nerve.

If this increases in size causing more vision problems what can be done?

I saw a retinologist, whom I was not impressed with. who did not seem to wish to listen to the other eyes issues I have which might impact this.
These are ocular rosacea, dryness, reaction to drugs/dyes etc put in the eyes.

Does anyone know of really good retinologist, and opthamologist, in the S.F. bay area.

Obviously one technically good but also who listens to the patients concerns.

Any advice/help gratefully received.

Evam

I have something similar, a retinal scar causing some distortion in vision. I had a flourescent angiogram to rule out bleeding and Dr said nothing could be done and come back in 6 months. How did your experience turn out?
