Vitreous Detachment and Wearing Contact Lenses?

Hi:

I was just diagnosed with a vitreous detachment and have all the symptoms I have read about on here (flashing light, floaters, etc.). My ophthalmologist has mew coming in (a week from now) to see the retina specialist. She did tell me no running or exercise (boo) but I can't remember if she said I could wear my contact lenses. Does anyone know if I can wear them or if that would cause a problem... or even increase the possibility of detaching or tearing the retina?

Thank you!
Becky

Hi Becky, I really wish you could get in sooner to see a retina specialist. A week seems like a long time. Is there another retina specialist in your area?

Yea, I agree. You should most definitely get in sooner. Any reason your specialist has you waiting a week?
