Question Red blurry splatter in eye's vision?

After straining my eyes and being awake for too long on the laptop, I woke up to a large red and orange splatter that looks like blood in my right eye's vision. It is about an inch large and it follows my right eye and blurs things behind it. It's translucent and swimmy. My eyes do not hurt and they both still see fine with glasses. Is this similar to a popped blood vessel? Will rest heal the eye?

I may have rubbed my eyes too hard prior to sleep as well.

Thank you for your reply.

Update:It's been about 22 hours now and the blotch of bloody floater seems to be dissipating. The orange surrounding the deeper splatters of red is no longer as visible making it very less blurry. I'll wait longer before consulting doctor.
