| Scotomas
I was diagnosed with permanent scotomas in both eyes 3 1/2 years ago. My vision has gotten worse (20/200 in left eye and 20/60 in my right). The condition is called bitemporal superior hemianopsia. A battery of tests did not identify any known cause (genetics was the final verdict). I have applied for social security disability and was hoping I could make contact with someone with a similar story. I have no idea if I will get it but I did find out that scotomas are listed as a visual disability by the social security administration. I do not drive at night or in inclement weather as I lose depth perception and that mnakes commuting to a job all but impossible. Thanks for any help or advice.
